Scholarship as Social Commentary:
Understanding the Filipino Psyche

The three papers in this session offer a glimpse into the Filipino mindset at the
individual (Aytas), group (Bangsamoro) and national (musical heritage) levels.
However, the papers do not merely give a descriptive account of the specific
contexts of their investigation; they also analyze how these are linked to, and
impact on, Philippine history, politics, and culture.
