RAMONA, Calif. February 7 - Devon Allman may well be the crown prince of Southern Rock. The son
and nephew of Gregg Allman and Duane Allman respectively, he was born into a rich musical tradition.
Cyril Neville is a Neville of the New Orleans’ Nevilles, meaning he was born to boogie. The two formed
what is commonly known as a supergroup in 2011 and they dubbed it Royal Southern Brotherhood – a
name that recalls the past without leaning too heavily on it.
With Yonrico Scott on drums, Charlie Wooten on bass, and Bart Walker manning the controls on guitar and vocals, the five created something beyond the traditional band idea. John Hiatt once said of them
“They are not a band – they are an extravaganza.”
That extravaganza is still on tour – Allman’s last with the supergroup. Their tour information is available
