The tough gets going
When only 16 , Russian Andrei Bessonov arrived for the first time at the garden of Master Masahiko Kimura . It was then , after a short stay , that he decided to study with the famous Master and become a professional bonsai artist himself . So , after graduating school at 18 , he started studying with Kimura for six years . I met Andrei at Kimura ’ s garden a few years ago , a very friendly talented and positive guy . ‘ Life can be tough as an apprentice here ,’ Andrei explained . ‘ But I learned a lot from this amazing Master . One major thing is how to be strong and keep going to achieve your goals . Because of the Covid crisis I am still here in Japan , but later I would like to settle in Europe and open my own bonsai garden .’
Yasuo Fukuda from Japan proves that you don ’ t need to be very young to learn new things ; he is a Master of calligraphy and loves bonsai , too . His nephew , a bonsai ceramist , recognized Yasuo ’ s talent for making pots .

A frequent contributor , Harry Harrington ' s talent is to make impressive bonsai from material that anyone else might have
thrown on the scrap heap . A crab apple , arrived in his garden in a very sorry state , However , he managed to transform it into something completely new .
The love for bonsai can cause people to make very dramatic decision ’ s , like Lukás Sirotný , who switched from becoming an engineer into a bonsai artist . The same story goes for Mike Lane , who followed his dreams rather than choosing a career in the finance business .
David Quintana also followed his guts , when buying one of his first serious bonsai , a Buxus that he was at a loss over what to do with it . However , being very determined he managed to make it into one of the best bonsai in his collection . Enjoy the read .
