Beef Avo Sliders
These mouthwatering beef avo sliders
from the South African Avocado Growers‘
Association are a tasty meal option packed
with nutrition.
What you’ll need
500 g ground beef, extra lean
2 tablespoons pesto
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
8 ripe avocados
1 large plum tomato, cut into 8 slices
8 slices cheddar cheese
Method
1. Gently combine ground beef, pesto, egg, a 1/4
teaspoon salt, and a 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground
black pepper in a bowl.
2. Divide the beef mixture into 8 equal portions,
shaping each into a 1/2-cm-thick patty.
3. Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat.
4. Coat the pan with cooking spray.
5. Add patties to the pan and cook for 3 minutes on
each side or until the desired degree of doneness
has been reached.
6. Cut the avocados in half and remove the pip and
peel. Top one half with 1 tomato slice, 1 cheese
slice and 1 patty. Place the other avocado half on
top of this and season with salt as well as freshly
ground pepper.
