Fruit juice is as bad as soft drinks A number of people still believe that fruit juice is a healthy drink. At face value, this does make sense because it is made from fruit. However, fruit juice contains just as much sugar as sugary soft drinks. A glass of fruit juice contains no fibre or chewing resistance, making it easy to consume massive amounts of sugar. In fact, a single glass of orange juice contains just as much sugar as two whole oranges. So, if you’re trying to make healthier choices, then you should avoid fruit juice as well. Rejuvenate blonde hair with tomato sauce Whether you’ve had a hair dye disaster or are experiencing chlorine-induced green tones from spending too much time in the pool, blonde ladies can counteract green shades and rejuvenate their colour with tomato sauce. While it may not be the most appealing hair treatment, the red condiment can neutralise the green in your hair, leading to shiny, golden locks once more. Apply the sauce to your hair and leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse off and shampoo as normal. Apply coconut oil for smooth hands Most people struggle with dry hands. This can be solved by increasing moisture using hand lotions or emollient creams. However, dermatologists suggest applying coconut oil to your hands before going to bed.  Simply rub the coconut oil onto your hands, then put on gloves before going to sleep to keep the oil off your bedding. Covering your hands helps the oil to penetrate your skin, preventing hands and nails from getting too dry — especially in winter. Coconut oil contains 80% saturated fats and rich amounts of Vitamin E, which help retain moisture and keep skin soft and supple. Beat bloating with water Feeling bloated can be caused by dehydration. When you are dehydrated, your body holds onto water, which causes you to swell up and bloat. Drink water throughout the day to prevent this. Your best bet is to drink water right after you wake up as your body is usually dehydrated upon waking. If you have a hard time drinking water, try adding slices of fruit or lemon to add some flavour. Staying hydrated can help your body burn fat by supporting proper liver function, toxin removal and reduced fat storage. Page 6
