Bonita Bay Now Winter 2021 | Page 21

A key element for the Whites is Bonita Bay ’ s dedicated 14 miles of biking trails . “ We bike practically everywhere ,” Pat says . “ We bike to work out ; we bike to the farmers market . The area is conducive to staying very active .”
Pat says a typical day might start with the couple sitting out on their veranda , sipping coffee and listening to music . “ Then we jump on our bikes and ride to the fitness center ,” he says . “ After that , we ’ ll ride home and have lunch . The rest of the day is open to either enjoy our home or take part in one of the many local activities .” An active golfer , Pat enjoys spending time out on one of Bonita Bay ’ s five award-winning private golf courses . “ Edie is now taking lessons and often joins me out on the course ,” Pat says .
Though they prefer cooking at home , the Whites do enjoy the many dining options both inside and outside the community gates . “ The Lake House Bar & Grill has amazing beef brisket ,” he says . “ We enjoy Lansdowne Street for salads and sandwiches . They also offer a fun trivia night .”
Because they closed escrow at the start of the pandemic lockdown and restrictions , the Whites have yet to fully enjoy all that Bonita Bay has to offer , but they have been made to feel welcome by the neighborhood . “ The people are very warm and inviting ,” says Pat . “ Just the other day , our neighbor held a socially distanced cocktail party on their driveway . We had a great time and made some new friends .”
For now , the Whites will be visiting their Bonita Bay home each month in three-week increments , as Pat still works full time up north . “ We ’ re looking forward to seeing the community in full season , especially when the pandemic is over . There ’ s so much to enjoy here , and we can ’ t wait to share it with the rest of the family .”
