There are some songs that are more than songs . They resonate and echo and they last . They make you feel something unique to that song . A Whiter Shade of Pale is that song for me . First released in 1967 by Procol Harum it defines something of an era when anything was possible . It breaks your heart . And it melts your heart . And it mends your heart . I stripped the song down to just me on piano playing and singing and tried to get inside it . It was fun . And it felt good . I hope the listener feels it too . – Johnny Douglas
