Music Review Zombie Garden Club ’ s “ A Whiter Shade of Pale ” Leaves Swedish Music Reviewer The Grouch Speechless .
Hej America ! I am back with something a bit different this time around . A few weeks ago I reviewed the latest album by the Zombie Garden Club . If you have not heard it , I highly recommend that you give it a listen . The music on that album strikes me as a cross between David Bowie and Lou Reed . As I said in that review , the album turned me into a full-fledged Zombie head .
Thus , I was excited to listen to the Zombie Garden Club ’ s newest single which is a cover of Procol Harum ’ s 1967 single A Whiter Shade of Pale . I was unsure how Johnny Douglas , the head Zombie in the club , would handle such an iconic song . ( Johnny , before I listened to the track I half expected something similar to Marilyn Manson ’ s cover of Come Together or Siouxsie and The Banshees cover of Dear Prudence .)
Simply put , this song is nothing like either of those covers , although a strong case can be made that Siouxsie ’ s version of Dear Prudence is quite beautiful . Listen to this song .
