Short Story about the song from Bob Shaw:
The idea for this sketch actually came about after
recording my song “Don’t Forget The Christ in
Christmas” I sang all the vocals and after singing the
low and high voices I had the two argue at the end of
the song. I wanted the two to do something else
together, so this sleigh ride adventure came about.
This comedy was recorded on an old portable 4 track
cassette recorder that ran on batteries.
I was living at
home at the time
and being that I
did all the vocals
and voices, I did
not want anyone
to think I was going insane screaming and shouting in my
room, never mind keep everyone awake because I did most
of the recording at night.
So I would take the recorder out to my car and recorded
most of it in an old Cadillac in the driveway.
I must say I had a lot of fun sipping on a beer and playing
the parts of all the characters in that car!
