“I Wonder Where You Are This Christmas”
Bob Shaw
I can hear the sleigh bells in the distance
I hear the little drummer boy ponding out his tune
As I light me up another cigarette, I just can’t seem to sleep
As I stare out the window at the snow covered street
Each house has a candle lit window
And the Christmas lights they color the snow.
I remember how we’d argue about, which decoration where the best
Oh those memories of you, I know I’m always going to miss you
And I wonder how you are this Christmas,
I wonder do you ever think of me
I wonder how you are this Christmas
I wonder do you ever miss me
We had lost tough it was a while ago
I know you moved far, far away
I only which I could just say hello
And see you frolicking and laughing in the snow
Just like those memories I used to know
And I wonder how you are this Christmas,
I wonder do you ever think of me
I wonder how you are this Christmas
I wonder do you ever miss me
Cause I can hear your laughter in the distance
I see you smile so clear your eyes so bright
Oh God. I only wish, somehow someway
I could just talk to you tonight.
And am I only dreaming, as I hear the phone ring
I pick it up and hear a voice that makes me smile
And Am I only dreaming as I say hello
And hear her sweet voice soft and low
She said I wondered how you were this Christmas
I wondered did you ever think of me
I wondered how you were this Christmas
And I wondered do you ever think of me
Yes and am I only dreaming as the phone it starts to ring
Well it’s the best old present Santa Claus could bring
