ndian-Americans are
among the fastest-growing
population groups in Texas.
They have a tremendous capacity
to come together as a constituency,
and to make a larger difference to
the community where they live in. In
Austin, more than 75 Indian-American
Organizations conduct activities and
showcase a vast diversity in culture. A
Group of people has formed a Coalition
of Organizations, and is celebrating
the collective capacity of the unique
culture of Indian American citizens.
Senator Kirk Watson has
recognized the capacity of the Indian
American community and has invited
the members of the constituency
to the Capitol, to share their values,
aspirations and participation in the
State of Texas. The Coalition is inviting
Senators, House Representatives

opportunity all over the world. In the
2014 Indian election, Indians have
shown their deep involvement through
the 66+% voter turnout. In Texas as
new immigrants, Indian-Americans
want to understand the civic
engagement process, and to create
a safe space where their voices as a
minority can be heard. This is one of
the goals of the Indian American Civic
Day. We also want all Texans to join and
celebrate with Indian-Americans.
Indian-American Regional
Associations and other organizations
are invited to participate, and to create
a shared process, that will empower
the community. Please join us to
share our proud heritage. Come and
start a collective conversation for
greater economic growth, education
and innovation. Help build diversity
solutions through adaptability and
tolerance. Increase our giveback to

volunteer hours and charitable

Please Note: While the program from 12:00pm to 1:00 pm at the Rotunda is open to everyone. The
