Mainly a romance film director, his style of cinema features song shoots in Switzerland with chiffon saris on his leading ladies. He has recently directed and produced movies for the youth. Notable films of his are his first directorial venture Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and the must have for a Bollywood fanatic Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham, as well as Kal Ho Na Ho and My Name is Khan. He has also hosted a celebrity talk show called Koffee With Karan, which featured Bollywood celebrites, Lift Kara De for fans of said celebs, and is currently a judge on dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Ja Season 5.
