COFFEE IN BOLIVIA

COFFEE

Coffee has become one of the major exports of Bolivia . They export mostly to the United States and Europe along with other developed nations . The coffee bean that was vital the economy dramatically fell off from the late 1990 ’ s to the early 2000 ’ s ; it went from 39,000 dollars per metric ton to just over 14,000 in 2003 . This affected the farmers and companies all over Bolivia as their way of living was cut by more than half of what they were making a few years ago . This tends to happen with the coffee industry just not that to that extent .
Although in the previous year ’ s Bolivia has done things to improve the overall quality of the coffee industry . These things include : Free trade , preserving the land , making the process more efficient , and making mills to take care of the beans nearer to the farms . The positive advances will then in turn help out all of the people who are working in the community by hopefully make them more money and improve their quality of life for the better . They are also trying to help the people learn how to farm so that they could do it on their own and make their own farms .
Then more of everything farming could be made as more people make their own farms . While the coffee farms will benefit the whole economy and will produce more than ever before and be environmentally safe at the same time .
