• What is your opinion about Boldwin School’ s experience in making the iPad or Tablet as a tool for education?
The fast-pace advancement of -technoogy have sparked an international debate on the inclusion of technology within the educational process, and I think the use of electronic tablets is part of a wider -discusion of how much information technology has become a critical force in the -eductional process. In my opinion, the invasion of technology has transformed our lives on the social and work level. There is no doubt that the majority of today’ s job opportunities( if not all) depend on technology in various degrees, and if schools are meant to prepare the young to be able to find success in this kind of environment, education has to adapt and change.
Our experience, despite some challenges that are completely normal to this kind of transformation, has proven to be a great victory and a daring new step towards a BOLD WIN in the future of our students.
• To what extent do you think using tablets is motivating the students and improving their academic performance?
If you ask our students, you can see in their eyes that it has added a great deal of excitement and energy to their school life. Students have grown irritated from traditional schools, they used to consider the school as a prison with very little entertainment. Today, Boldwin School’ s students are seeing the school speaking their language, letting them free to experience a different type of education. Modern education understands that students are motivated by entertainment and if we can mix entertainment with education, we would achieve improved academic results and that is exactly whats happening.
