THE KNOW HOW

Master the

Smokey Eye !

Step 1 :

When doing a smokey eye , I recommend first applying an eye primer . You can use any eye primer you want to . I typically use the " ELF Eye Primer and Liner Sealer ." This product can be found at any local store or beauty store . Apply the eye primer all over the lid and above the lid . You do not always need an eye primer , but they are good to use if you are going on a date or out somewhere fancy and you do not want your eye shadow to be creasing .

Step 2 :

Once your primer is all set , you are ready to apply eye shadow . Find a taupe color like a very light brown or tan shadow . Using any fluffy brush you have , apply the product all over your lid or wherever you applied your primer . By doing this , the shadow sets the primer and will prepare your eye with a base .

Step 3 :

With the same brush find a little bit darker brown shade and apply just above the crease ; not the lid but above it . This color will provide a transition shade . A transition shade is the color that brings the look together . It will help with blending the colors .

Step 4 :

Now that you have applied two shades of a lighter brown ; take a dark pink tone or a maroon color and apply on your crease . This step will make your crease dark , and prepare for smoking out the other colors .

Step 5 :

Now you can use any blending brush you own and blend slightly . If you blend all the way it will typically blend out the colors and you will make a messy effect .
