What country were you born in ?
I was born in Nigeria , in West Africa . I moved to the states in 2010 .
Did you go to school there and how is the school different from the schools here ?
Yes , I went to grade school , high school and medical school in Nigeria . The way it ' s set up over there is a little different from here . We have elementary schools there that are called primary schools . Middle school is called just ni or secondary , and high school is called senior secondary . We spend the same amount of years in school . Medical school in Nigeria is a straight six years , so you don ' t have to do an undergraduate degree before hand .
When did you know that you were going to be a Doctor ?
I always liked helping people and have always been interested in other people ' s stories . I decided when I was in high school that I wanted to be a doctor . It was more challenging picking out what type of doctor I wanted to be as there were so many choices ! I ' m glad I decided to be a Child and Adolescent psychiatrist as it offers me the best chance of interacting with children and their families , so I can know and help them .
