DIY Drinking Straw Sunburst Frame :
Materials : Cardboard ring : Trace a few bowls and cut it out . Hot glue gun : You use a lot of glue . Drinking straws : About 200 straws depending on the size of your ring . You want to use straight straws . Spray paint : 2 cans of spray paint , any color you want
Directions : 1 . Plug in the glue gun and get your supplies ready . 2 . Start gluing the straws in a circle around the ring . Glue them in a circular pattern ( straight out ) with little space in between . 3 . After you ’ ve got one layer glued , do another to fill in the gaps . Keep the glue hidden and not goop it all over the place .
4 . Cut the straws in halves or thirds and keep gluing until you get the look you want and where everything is covered . For the last layer cut straws short and glue them in places that would finish the look . After that , trim the other straws at random lengths so they aren ’ t all the same lengths .
5 . Once all the straws are secure and in place , its time to spray paint . Set your project off the ground over the grass . Putting it on two plastic cups in the grass would work to get it off the ground . Paint the ends of the straws , and really get it all over and around the sides . Spray the front then after the front has dried , spray the back and then spray the front again . 6 . After you have completed all these steps , your project is complete !
