Being BOLD
Welcome to Bold the magazine! Our goal is to inspire, encourage and help you step out of your comfort zone and do something bold in your life. What is it that you have always wanted to do, but have been afraid to go after because you thought it was impossible? Someone gave me a journal not so long ago and on the cover it says, “If your DREAMS DON’T S SCARE YOU, THEY AREN’T BIG ENOUGH”. Prior to receiving this journal, there were some things that I had being thinking about doing, but I thought they would be impossible to accomplish. After receiving the journal, I realized that it was time for me to come out of my comfort zone and do something that would require me to make a bold move. When was the last time you did something bold? I’m not talking about telling that person off who gets on your last nerve. I’m talking about doing something you thought would be impossible to do!
What does it mean to be bold? It means that it is going to require you to do some work. You can no longer sit and wish for something to happen; you are going to have to take that first step. Just like when babies are learning to walk for the first time, it’s scary for them, however once they take that first step alone, they are on their way and there’s no stopping them. That is the attitude you must have! Stepping out into the unknown can be intimidating, however putting forth the effort will get you moving in the right direction. Yes, there will be times when you step out and things won’t go the way you thought or planned, but don’t give up. Keep pushing forward. Part of being bold is
perseverance. You will never accomplish what you desire if you don’t keep moving forward.
Being bold will also require you to be courageous. You can and should expect some challenges from people who only see you the way they want you to be. Whenever you decide to make a change in life, there will be those who are close to you and who will not be comfortable with your decision. Why? Because your change will make them look at their own lives. They’re comfortable with where they are and don’t want to change… and they don’t want you to either. They may say things like “do you really think you can do that”, “you’re too old” or “you’ll never be able to accomplish anything like that”! Instead of allowing their words to discourage you, use them for motivation! Being bold when it comes to people may be difficult, but it is a necessary step if you are going to move to that next level.
If you or someone you know is making bold moves in their lives, I would like to know. I would love to share your stories with our readers. You can email me at [email protected]
Until next time,
