A good marriage contains compatibility. A great marriage is marked by two individuals that complement each other. Only the secure resist the impulse to make everyone into their own image. Only the humble harvest appreciation and strength from their partner’s differences. A wife’s love affirms, builds and confirms the value that a man’s family planted. A man’s belief supported by a wife’s faith results in a man shouting from the house top—this is who I am, this is what I was born to do, this is my life purpose!

A man wants to fulfill his purpose in life.

An eagle deprived of flight bears no resemblance to its majestic intent. A Stradivarius violin,

untouched by an artist or music is less than its priceless value. A feast lacking guests will never know true appreciation. A man without a platform or arena for his life purpose is deprived, silenced and without appreciation. It is within the circles of community and country that a man finds a life platform and arena for his unique gifting.

If a man invests in his community he is turning outward. He is choosing to add his unique purpose and talents to the equal, lesser and greater. There is power involved in collaboration. There is exponential power evoked in a community acting on one accord. This is true, irrespective of whether that community is building the Tower of Babel or whether they are teaching the world’s most powerful nation the meaning of justice.

When communities of one accord are captured by a vision larger than any individual community a country or nation is born. If that larger vision positively impacts people beyond its own borders a great nation is born. At the center of a great nation living outs its destiny amid the community of man—is a man who wants to fulfill his purpose.

A man’s purpose does not have an expiration date. If you can stand at the check-out counter and read the sign, fulfillment of your purpose is still possible. If God has led you to this rambling note from reality, perhaps it is to remind you that He is not finished with you yet!
