welcome Welcome to our 15th edition of BOLD. I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and New Year. We’re very privileged to live in a safe and welcoming community where we can celebrate peace over the jolly season. With the start of a New Year comes many New Year’s resolutions, and often these can revolve around fitness. The beginning of the year is when motivation and enthusiasm are at their highest, but it’s important that you can maintain your commitment all year round. In this edition, we’ve included some helpful tips to ensure you can develop great exercise habits and stay motivated to reach your fitness goals. The Toowoomba Region has rich traditions and bold ambitions in the sporting arena. Our annual Coca-Cola QLD PGA Championship will see its 10th anniversary this year, and this edition includes a recap of the past ten years’ winners. The warmer months are upon us and it’s a fantastic time to visit your local pool. In January, our regional pools will host pool parties for the community to relax and escape the summer heat. Read on to find details and dates for the pool nearest to you. January and February will also see our annual Summer Tunes program, which provides a fantastic opportunity to relax in our beautiful parks and enjoy some A1 musical entertainment. Visit www.tr.qld.gov.au/events for more information about summer events. While we continue through one of our toughest droughts in the past century, it’s vitally important that we conserve water wherever we can. This edition includes a breakdown of our water consumption habits by township, indicating which communities are doing well and which communities could improve their habits. 2018 was a very productive and rewarding year for infrastructure projects within our region. In this edition we recap two recently completed upgrade projects that will improve safety and accessibility and encourage growth within our region. I hope you enjoy this edition of BOLD.
