Trail Yoga CHANGE PROJECT We’re committed to helping the people of our region lead healthier, happier lives. We have a number of opportunities under The CHANGE Project available to achieve this. We recently met with Bella Reynolds from Wellness Adven tures who helped us host Trail Yoga as part of the THRIVE Project. Some may already know the benefits of yoga, however when combined with being outdoors something magical happens. Participating in Trail Yoga finds you exploring the bush to find inspiring sights that will take your breath away. One of the most important aspects of yoga practice is breathing, which is most beneficial to our health and wellbeing. Bella advised, “The basic tool of breathing is one of the most nourishing practices. Being able to stop and have the opportunity to go into one- self can provide multiple benefits of stress relief and increase self-awareness of health, physically, mentally and emotionally.” a flat area with a view and 30 minutes of yoga practice before returning. “Being in a natural space with the imperfections of the environment makes it more fun. You become grounded by the earth and when you look up, you’re looking at real sky! Being outdoors brings the practice back to basics allowing people to explore the trails and meet kindred spirits. It’s an adventure!” said Bella. Participating in Trail Yoga is suitable for all ages and fitness levels as they’re designed for beginners and will suit anyone wanting to enjoy the outdoors and improve their health.
