“2000 Nigerians have been “feared” dead in
attack by Boko Haram.” According to new
sources, bodies were scattered about these
northern Nigerians cities, and that Boko Haram opened fired as just took whatever came
in front of them; including men, women,
and children. The attack is being labeled the
“deadliest massacre” Nigeria has dealt with.
The reason for the attack is based on goals by
the Islamic militant group (Abubakar, 2015).
This statement is mostly true.
“Boko Haram will gain more territory
and is currently holding territory?” Boko
Haram is actually gaining publicity, not
ground. This comes from Dionne Searcey
of the New York Times and has been reported on multiple new sites. (Searcey, 2015).
This statement is false.
“Based on what the Nigerian police are
saying, 10 year old girls were used as suicide
bombers in recent Boko Haram attacks.”
This information does not cite credible
sources, and the only credible information
is on CNN but, the story is about an elderly
woman and a 10-year old girl suicide bomber. (Searcey, 2015) There are no reliable
sources to support this claim. This statement
is false.
“Boko Haram has stepped up attacks ahead
of Nigerian elections.” The attacks come
before and after Nigeria’s new president, Muhammadu Buhari, is placed in the position.
Due to Buhari taking office, Boko Haram
is now declaring war against him and the
citizens of Nigeria and Buhari is discrediting
them with comments such as; “Boko Haram
is a mindless, godless group who are as far
away from Islam as one can think of (M, H.
2016).” This statement is true.
