Hundreds of schoolgirls kidnapped
by Boko Haram
Source
Evidence
The source of this video is from MSNBC with
commentator China Okasi. China is reporting on the issue regarding #bringbackourgirls, and how Nigeria failed to bring back the
several hundred missing schoolgirls.
China offers several facts during the video
although, nothing is cited. Set aside the facts,
and she is offering many opinion based statements. She makes also doesn’t know how
many schoolgirls were kidnapped and states
that it was around 200 to 300, but she didn’t
know for sure.
Motive
Although China is commentating about
issues surrounding Boko Haram throughout
the video, she doesn’t exactly know what is
really going on. She is an opinion journalist
(Okasi, 2016) that simply states issues and
her opinion on those said issues. This suggests her motive is for pure entertainment.
Logic
When listening to this video, it is clear that
China is advocating for the kidnapped
schoolgirls as she was born and raised in
Nigeria herself. It was clearly presented but
it’s all opinion based and there is no logic to
what she is presenting.
Left Out
This video clip would be stronger had the
facts been reported vs. opinion. A lot was left
out and it was all opinion based rather than
why those schoolgirls had not been found.
