Friends of Nursing Board Members Host
Alumni Events
The Friends of Nursing (FON) is participating in outreach efforts to spread the word about the exciting things the School of Nursing is doing. The FON is utilizing small, intimate alumni gatherings to
encourage dialogue and questions. Vera Fink, Margaret McDonough, and Dessa Lagerstrom are leading
this initiative for the board.
In April 2013, McDonough hosted an event at her house. It was attended by four graduates from
the 1960’s and 1970’s. In May 2013, Edith Irving hosted an alumni event at West Valley Medical Center. This event was attended by four graduates from the 1970s and the mid 2000’s.
The alumni shared great stories and memories of days gone by as well as sharing about their careers and what great accomplishments they have been able to make as a nurse. The Friends of Nursing
Board members were able to update the groups on changes in the School of Nursing. Overall, everyBOISE STATE UNIVERSITY
