Medicine Man
Michael Dienstbach, Class of 2018
Well I’m gonna see the medicine man
And I’m gonna go and ask him if I can
Why are the stars around here hanging so white
When I hear baby children crying all night
Why do I have to say
Help the poor girl
The medicine man pulverizes salt and sand
He trades your life and love for gold hand over hand
His doors and windows closed, the smoke inside
Surrounded by the plants and animal hide
He cannot hear me say
Help the poor boy
Well I’m gonna be a medicine man
And I’m gonna try the very best I can
To keep my fingers and my arms open wide
To both receive and give with my heart and eyes
Cuz I don’t wanna say
Help the poor girl
I shouldn’t have to say
Help the poor boy
