I Think of You
Anna Bailey, Class of 2018
I think of you.
Not just every day,
But every hour,
The minutes and seconds in between
When I’m not with you.
I think of you
When I am walking down a street
Listening to cars pass.
While yet I hear the clicking of shoes
Matching my heart,
Beating slowly then fast because
In my mind passes a thought of you.
I think of you
When I am sitting.
Wondering why the hands on the clock are moving slow.
Questioning has time stopped
And if it did, wound I have lost you?
I think of you,
When I smell your cologne.
Traces of it yet in the air,
Giving off a mesmerizing feeling
From the last moment we shared.
I think of you,
Most times it’s often.
Living life and with every turn
There awaits some formality of a reminder of you.
I think of you,
As I close my eyes.
Seeing images stored,
Awaiting the arrival of a new day begun to arise
So that I can gather more thoughts of you.
