FPOA Have you ever heard someone complain about their knee inside the cinema, that it hurts while walking in malls? Or even just sitting on a chair? Don’t we usually react with, “Does it really hurt?” and follow up with, “Ang OA naman”. But is it really OA? 32 In my first article, I shared my experience of knee pain. One of the complications of my knee injury is Osteoarthritis (OA). It is the most common form of arthritis in the knee. It is a “wear-and-tear” type of arthritis that occurs most often in elderlies, but may occur in younger population, too (like me, lol). Osteoarthritis develops slowly wherein cartilage gradually frays then decreases the space between bones thus increasing bone friction and form bone spurs.
