Robert "Bobby" George Seale was born on October 22, 1936 in Dallas, Texas. He grew up the oldest of three children, entrenched in poverty and abuse, as often was the case in predominantly black neighborhoods. His father, George Seale, for whom he was named after, beat him endlessly to teach him that life would be unfair and unjust. At the age of eight, Bobby Seale and his family packed and made the long journey from the deep south to the west, They ended up in the small town of Oakland, notorious for being prejudice and racist. But, the Seale family was poor and moved around the San Fransisco area alot because of money issues. However, his troubles followed him where ever he went: through high school, the military, and even through his political career.

"A people who have suffered so much at the hands of racist society must draw the line somewhere... The black communities of America must rise up as one man to halt the progression of a trend that leads inevitably to their total destruction."

"" Revolution is about the need to re-evolve political, economic and social justice and power into the hands of the people, preferably through legislation and policies that make human sense. That's what revolution is about. Revolution isn't about shootouts."

A HARD-KNOCK LIFE.

"They came down on us because we had a grass-roots, real people's revolution, complpete with the programs, complete with the untiy, complete with the working coalitions, where we crossed racial lines."
