What is Poetic Society? Poetic Society is a group full of musicians that I want to hopefully turn into an entertainment company in the future. It originally started during the second semester of my junior year of high school when my homies Mike C, Captain SaveEmAll, and Abstrac came to me about being a collective group of individual MC’s that work together. Our chemistry in the studio had been so crazy that I wanted to do nothing but that. It started off with just me, Mike C, Captain, and Abstrac, shortly after we added 2 more artist to the group, who are, Black Paint and Flying Bird. You also call yourself and your group, the “New Outkast”, how has OutKast influenced you? Outkast has influenced me greatly. As a child during the times of moving back and forth to and from South Carolina, my mom would listen to the Love Below side of their last album. That got me hooked to different styles and sounds of music. The first song I remember hearing by them was Elevators, it was the first song by them where I knew every word because I had seen my mom rap the whole song, so I had to learn it. Favorite quote by them was by Andre 3000 on “Babylon” when he says “...and why y’all hollerin’ wavin’ yall gats, n*gga they made them gats, they got some sh*t that’ll blow out our backs from where they stay.” With a song like “Stanky wash”, I can only imagine what you have planned for your next project “L to the O”, what are some things we can expect? I wouldn’t say to expect anything. I can say this tape wont be like my last complete tape (BLACK BEiNG). This tape is gonna relate to my generation in the way they want to hear it, but not with the words they wanna hear. What is a quote/phrase you go by: In the words of the great Dave Chappelle “Stop thinkin’ and start makin’ moves!”
