Would you consider your music to be commercially appealing? Most definitely, I think with most of the general hip hop populous when we hear the term “Going Mainstream” or “Commercially Appealing” it tends to have a negative connotation behind it. that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Granted some people may switch their style to something that doesn’t really reflect them, but for the most part if you stay true to yourself and actually try to make music to change lives or try to connect with people’s emotions, it’s all good In my eyes... if no one can relate then what’s the point. Music is all about helping people through an emotion or a situation you know. I don’t mind wearing my heart on my sleeve for the world to hear through my songs. If I’m able to make you stronger with my songs Ive done my job. And that’s what Im out here trying to do. Being from Savannah, do you feel like there could be more opportunities for fellow artists? Or is it up to the artists to create those opportunities for themselves? sheesh…The tough one. There SHOULD be more opportunities for other artists here in savannah. but there isn’t. This city is a bucket of crabs. You really got to go out of your own way to make your own opportunities. With me, I moved to Atlanta back in 2012 to enroll into a music school for 2 years. During that time I made a few moves…but in 2015 I ran into Writing Sessions of America at this networking event where you can get up and play your single. They took a liking to me and been rolling with em ever since. Learned about the business, how to network with certain people to build relationships. They put me in the offices of Atlantic Records, Empire distributions etc. and it played a huge part in my song writing by putting me in a few songwriting boot camps and things of that sort. It’s funny I got artists back here in savannah looking at me as if I’m leading the pack…I can’t deny as if I am but I really can’t take that credit when Clay James just got a deal with snoop and has his video on revolt tv. Major shout out to him. Great to see some one from the city make it. It’s inspiring as hell. But yeah, make your own opportunity. What are the pros and cons of the music scene in Savannah? the only pro I think I can say is that there is a lot of untapped raw talent cultivating itself down and when it’s finally tapped people are going to be like “Damn! That’s how they be getting down down there by the river?” and it’s like... yeah [laughs] don’t doubt us for a second. And for the Con….there just aren’t a lot of opportunities.. and not many networking events or opportunities to even learn how to perfect your craft. No celebs or people in the music industry really come through here. So its kinda desolate in a sense… What quote/phrase do you live by? “To live a life of power, you must have faith that what you believe is right, even if others tell you your wrong. The first thing you must do to live a life a power is to find courage. You must be ready to reach beyond the boundaries of time itself. And to do that, all you need is the will to take that first step….” - Sonic CD AGE: 24 COMIN’ FROM: SAVANNAH, GA CURRENT PROJECT: “RELAPSE” BIGGEST INFLUENCE: Nas, OutKast, JayZ, Ye, Drake, Kdot, PND, KRIT, Anita Baker, Fabulous ASSOCIATION: GroundZer0/ 9twelve/ Try40 ACTIVE: 2015-PRESENT “Damn!
