2023 년은 한인 이민 120 주년 , 한미 동맹 70 주년이 되는 뜻깊은 해이기도 하다 . 한상대 회 주최 측은 내년 대회를 계기로 한미 양국 간 기업인 , 단체들의 지속적인 교류가 이 어져 한인 기업들의 글로벌 성장을 도모하고 시너지 효과를 낼 것으로 기대하고 있다 .

The 21st World Korean Business Convention will be co-hosted by Overseas Koreans Economic Organizations and the KACCUSA and co-organized by Overseas Koreans Foundation , Maeil Business News , and Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Orange County . According to a committee member , it has officially invited around 100 U . S . companies to encourage participation in the convention and are in talks with the U . S . Chamber of Commerce and American Association of Exporters and Importers .
Orange County is located in the Los Angeles metropolitan area and has been home for many Korean businesses . The Korean diaspora in Orange County has hundreds of thousands in population including many senators , representatives and mayors . The Anaheim Convention Center sits right next to Disneyland Resort .
The year of 2023 coincides with the 120th anniversary of Korean immigrants in the U . S . and the 70th anniversary of the U . S . -South Korea alliance . The organizers of the World Korean Business Convention anticipates the event to facilitate global outreach of Korean companies and long lasting relationships between the businessmen in the U . S . and South Korea .
The beauty supply industry and the convention
According to the survey conducted by the KACCUSA early this year , there are 240,000 Korean businesses in the U . S . alone . There is no doubt that Korean-owned beauty supplies account for a significant part . Last August 14th , the KACCUSA and the National Federation of Beauty Suppliers (“ NFBS ”) executed an MOU to promise support and cooperation .

올해 초 미주한인상공회의소 총연합회의 조사에 따르면 미국에만 24만 개의 한인 기 업이 운영 중이라고 한다 . 여기서 뷰티서플라이가 차지하는 비중이 크다는 것은 명백 한 사실이다 . 지난 8월 14 일 미주한인상공회의소총연합회 ( KACCUSA ) 와 미주뷰티서 플라이총연합회 ( NFBS ) 는 MOU를 체결하고 상호 발전을 위한 교류와 협력을 강화 하기로 합의했다 .
그 첫걸음이 세계한상대회이다 . 뷰티총연은 “ 한상대회로 우리 뷰티서플라이 업계도 동포사회를 생각하고 참여할 수 있는 계기가 만들어졌다 ” 며 기꺼이 한상과 뷰티 업 계 간의 징검다리 역할을 맡았고 이러한 노력은 의미 있는 성과를 거두고 있다 . 특히 키스 그룹은 다이아몬드 스폰서로 50만 달러를 기부하며 내년 세계한상대회에 힘을 보태기로 했다 .
성공적인 대회 개최를 위해 시급한 건 예산 확보다 . 지난 10 월 , BNB 매거진 사무실에서 이루어진 간담회에서 황병구 미주한인상공회의소 총연 회장은 “ 한국 정부에서 10 억여 원이 지원되지만 현재 환율로는 크지 않다 . 우리가 계획하는 대회 예산은 약 10 배 ” 라며 미주 한상들의 참여를 당부했다 .
