1. J OURNAL AIMS AND SCOPE 1. T EMÁTICA Y A LCANCE DE LA R EVISTA
Topics of interest include all the theoretical, methodological
and/or practical advances, in building management --one or
several processes-- within any life phase of the building. These
could be developed at the academic or professional level. Los temas de interés incluyen todos los avances teóricos,
metodológicos y/o empíricos, a nivel académico o profesional,
en la gestión de uno o varios procesos dentro de cualquiera
de las fases de vida del edificio.
This magazine is addressed to all the interveners of the
building sector. For its better diffusion title, abstract, highlights
and keywords of the articles will be published in English and
Spanish, and the body is allowed in both languages. English is
preferred. Esta revista va dirigida a todos los agentes del sector de la
edificación. Para su mayor difusión el título, resumen, titulares
y las palabras clave de los artículos se publican en inglés y en
español y el cuerpo del artículo se admite en ambos idiomas
dando preferencia al inglés.
The content will consist primarily of original research
manuscripts. However B&M is also open to the publication,
always within the scope of the magazine, of: review articles,
technical reports, best practices, conference papers, fast-track
communications, letters to the editor, states of the art and
book reviews. Academic-scientific content must prevail in all
occasions. El contenido estará formado fundamentalmente por artículos
científico-técnicos originales, no obstante, de igual forma y
siempre dentro del ámbito de alcance de la revista, B&M
también está abierta a la publicación de: artículos de revisión,
informes técnicos, buenas prácticas, comunicaciones en
congresos, comunicaciones cortas, cartas al editor, estados del
arte y reseñas de libros. En todos los casos deberá primar el
contenido científico académico, ajustándose al formato de
este tipo de publicaciones.
uilding & Management is an open access scientific e-journal
promoted by the School of Building Engineering (ETSEM) of
the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and published
every four months, three times a year, March, July and
November. It aims at the dissemination of high quality original
works related to the management of processes associated to
buildings, in any phase of their development, where various
agents in the sectors of Architecture, Engineering and
Construction participate.
uilding & Management es una publicación de gestión en
edificación de la Escuela Técnica Superior de Edificación
(ETSEM) de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). Se
trata de una revista digital científica abierta con periodicidad
cuatrimestral (marzo, julio, noviembre), que tiene como primer
objetivo la divulgación de trabajos originales sobre gestión
de los procesos vinculados a la edificación, desarrollados por
los sectores de la Arquitectura, Ingeniería y Construcción en
cualquiera de las fases del ciclo de vida del edificio.
2. B LINDED PEER - REVIEW PROCESS
The Editorial Board of the magazine, after verification that the
article complies with the rules on style and content indicated in
the guidelines for authors, sent the text, as double-blind
model, to two anonymous external expert reviewers within the
specific field, for its evaluation, or to a third if necessary.
2. R EVISIÓN POR PARES DOBLE CIEGO
Los trabajos presentados serán sometidos a una revisión inicial
por parte del comité editorial. Los autores de los manuscritos
enviados serán informados de la aceptación inicial para su
revisión o del rechazo de su artículo en el plazo de un mes de
la recepción del mismo.
Authors will be informed about the initial acceptation or
rejection within a month. The evaluation will focus in the
interest of the article, its contribution to knowledge of the
subject treated, the contributed novelty, the established
relationships, critical judgment, developed content, structure,
use of bibliographic and references that are handled
properly, wording, etc. Indicating recommendations for its
possible improvement.
Si sus contenidos son adecuados serán enviados para una
revisión por pares realizada por expertos independientes y
de reconocido prestigio, y por un tercero en caso necesario,
ajustándose a los protocolos de publicaciones científicas
seriadas. Los evaluadores serán seleccionados por el Comité
de Redacción en función de su trayectoria investigadora.
Based on the recommendations of the reviewers, the Editorial
Board will inform authors the reasoned result of reports by
email, at the address they have used to send the article. The
revision process lasts approximately three or four months,
without any cost for authors. The Editorial Board will
communicate the result to the principal author of the review
(published unchanged, with minor corrections publication,
publication with important fixes, not suitable for publication).
Las revisiones por pares se realizaran por un test de doble
ciego gestionado online. La valoración incidirá sobre el interés
del artículo, su contribución al conocimiento del tema tratado,
las novedades aportadas, las correctas relaciones
establecidas, el juicio crítico desarrollado, la estructura del
contenido, los referentes bibliográficos manejados, su correcta
redacción, etc., indicando recomendaciones, si las hubiera,
para su posible mejora.
