New Bibl e
Requir ements
Added for
AOA Students
By Suricke B.
Quite a few new changes have been
taking place this past year. One of those
changes would include the new Bible
requirements being put into place here at
Alpha Omega Academy. During this year ?s fall
Open Houses, Mrs. Julia Ellis, the principal of
AOA, explained about this new change in
graduation requirements.
Last year, in July 2018, AOA received
accreditation from the Association of
Christian Schools International. Other than
accrediting AOA, ACSI also told AOA to
consider re-evaluating their course
requirements regarding Bible; the cause of
our change in Bible requirements.
From now on, two Bible credits will be
required to graduate. The process will slowly
be put in place. For the 2019-2020 school
year, ninth graders will be put into the
process of having to complete at least a
semester of Bible per year, all the way
through their senior year. They are free to
take a Bible course for the whole year, and
not just the semester, if they wish to do so.
The new requirements only apply to the
ninth graders this year. Current tenth,
eleventh, and twelfth graders will not fall
under this change, and will still only need
one credit for graduation.
When the school year of 2020-2021
rolls in, all students in grades three to ten will
also be pulled into this change, and will be
required to complete a semester of Bible
yearly, but the classes of 2021 and 2022 will
still be excluded.
