ICA starts own chapter of National Art Honor Society

Hello Knights ! This year , there is an exciting addition to the clubs at ICA . This club is , drum roll please ? the new National Art Honor Society ! The founding officer applications have already been submitted and chosen so congratulations to the founding officers of this chapter of NAHS !
The National Art Honor Society has been around for over 40 years , allowing students the opportunity to be recognized for their visual art while also getting to know their peers and the different arts they create . NAHS membership is also good for college and career preparation . To be eligible for membership , here is a list of requirements :
? be currently enrolled at ICA as a 9th-12th grade student
? be previously or currently enrolled in a 9th-12th grade level art course ( Intro to Art , Art History , or an art course at another school )
? maintain an average GPA of 3.0 or higher in all art courses
? maintain an average GPA of 2.5 or higher in all of your courses
? be able to attend monthly meetings on Wednesdays from 11:15-12:00 CT
? be committed to designing and facilitating NAHS projects throughout the year
? be committed to regularly leading and participating in Art Club on Wednesdays from 12:00-1:00 CT .
ICA art teacher Mrs . Danielle Henn recently began the club after being inspired by the students found leading NAHS clubs in other schools . She is a part of the National Art Education Association and has witnessed all of the amazing things these children have accomplished with their artwork and leadership . Mrs . Henn said , ? No one is too young to make an impact with their creative work , and I want to honor the creativity and hard work of students at ICA .?
She also went on to explain that she believes it is important that Christian students find their way into the arts so that they can bring their own light into the worldly culture that seems to be taking over . With this club , she wants to ? provide student-generated vision and leadership for the visual arts at ICA .? Giving students a chance to display their own ideas and grow
