Your journey begins w hen t he w ind t akes you high ; Your bright colors sw irl , crim sons soar as you fly . You ride on t he breeze as t he birds pass you by . You t w irl and you spin in t he cloudy gray sky
I see you , I hear you , as you rush past m e , You dance and you glide , ever so free . You head nort h and sout h , east , and t hen w est , You lie on t he ground just t o t ake a short rest .
But t he w ind picks you up ; you get carried ast ray , You slow t o see squirrels st ore t heir acorns aw ay . You scurry , you glide , you see t he clouds pass , The gales t ake you high , yes , you go very fast .
You drop t o t he ground , t o t he pat chy green ground , You rust le , you crunch , you m ake so m uch sound . The w ind lays you dow n , just t o t ake you once m ore , But unt il t hen , you rest on t he dam p forest floor .
