FOREWORD
WELCOME TO THE NEW BNC DIGIMAG
Dear BNC members
I trust that the Christmas / New Year break gave you an opportunity for some productive training? We are now approximately 12 weeks from race day … but you are already know that, because you are experienced runners. Some have more history with the event than others, and this edition of the Blue Wave looks at some of our most experienced participants, and what keeps them ticking over, year after year.
On the subject of training, we are pleased to again present a programme of official TTOM training runs. It is quite difficult to find

dates for these runs without conflicting with official races, but we hope that you might join at least one and share your Blue Number experience with the excited newcomers! Please take those old race shirts out of the mothballs and proudly show your favourites.
Planning for the race is going well. The Board and the experienced team from Stillwater Sports are working closely with the City, sponsors, partners and suppliers to ensure that we can restore the standards to levels that Chet Sainsbury would be proud of, and that you, as the stalwarts of the event, deserve.
Good luck with your training!

FROM THE TTOM RACE DIRECTOR
Dear BNC members
The Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon has always stood for more than just distance. It represents resilience, community, and the shared pursuit of excellence, set against one of the most iconic backdrops in world running. As we look ahead to the 2026 edition, our vision is rooted in honouring this legacy, while continually raising the standard of what runners can expect across the Ultra Marathon, Half Marathon and Trail Run.
Our commitment is simple yet uncompromising: To deliver a worldclass experience that is seamless, safe and unforgettable for every participant. From elite athletes chasing podium finishes to first-time runners fulfilling lifelong dreams, each journey matters. In 2026, our focus will be on refining operational excellence, enhancing runner support on route, and ensuring that every detail – from logistics and medical care to route management and sustainability – is executed with precision.
The Ultra Marathon remains the heartbeat of the event, steeped in history and challenge, while the Half Marathon continues to welcome thousands to experience the magic of Two Oceans. Meanwhile, our Trail Run reflects our respect for the natural environment and our desire to offer runners an authentic, immersive experience through Cape Town’ s spectacular landscapes.
Above all, my hope is that the 2026 Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon once again brings people together in a powerful celebration of the spirit.
To the Blue Number Club members, your loyalty and passion inspire us to keep pushing boundaries. We look forward to welcoming you back to an event that remains proudly rooted in tradition, yet boldly focused on the future.
