Recycling at School

By: Eloise Garland

Recycling is a terrific way to make our school better, and learning about different ways to recycle is something that we can take with us into the future in order to protect our planet.

There are many reasons to recycle at school. If we recycle at school we can make the world greener and get in the habit of recycling, so we will do it at home. You can either keep scrap paper in a container to recycle to or use later, or you can ask your teacher if he or she has an extra bin or tray to keep scraps in. At school you can bring in bottled water, and refill it, or use a reusable water bottle and clean it. Whether you are at home or at school recycling reduces waste.

At school you can recycle many things. Here are a few examples.

Scrap Papers

Old Worksheets or Packets

Empty Bottled Waters

Reusing empty water bottles or any other containers

Recycling old batteries

Paper Juice and Milk Cartons

Cardboard Colored Pencils, Markers, and Crayons Packaging

Compost Food Waste or, Unfinished Food

Recycling is a good project to do at school. It is a skill we will take into the real world. We can recycle at school to get into the habit of doing it at home. There are many things that we can find around school to recycle. I hope that you will work on recycling so you can reduce waste.
