PROFESSIONAL VOLUNTEERS ARE TAKING OVER Meet PEA Club When we heard of professional volunteers, it took a lot of explaining for us to grasp the fact that people volunteer for a living. Volunteering is a passionate and honourable job that people usually do part time, so, having people do it as day jobs is enviable. To understand how it works, we spoke with Precious Ehigie Aigbe, founder of Abuja’s leading volunteer “The PEA Club is a community of #Passion- ate #Energetic #Achievers with a common goal of personal development and service. Our members (PeaClubbers) cut across young Nigerians from different races, tribes, cultures and religion. We believe Nigerian youths have the potential and ability to create the bright future they desire; and we give them the op- portunity to network and develop themselves towards their visions. Our approach involves building a network of friends who inspire their friends to inspire their friends to greatness. We are also called #TheFriendshipHub” According to him, the PEA club holds the fol- lowing values: Friendship: They are a community of friends who desire the growth of other individuals (physically, financially, emotionally, and spir- 22 Blueink.ng itually) Acceleration: They believe and encourage the development of members towards making youths productive and successful in their pursuits Mentoring: They have successful individuals will- ing to mentor members in chosen career paths. Members will in turn grow to mentor other in- dividuals in the society thus, making the circle productive. Service: They encourage members to be actively involved in volunteering activities and share op- portunities for members to volunteer, give-back and grow themselves Asides this, the PEA Club does much more includ- ing giving members avenues to advertise their products; they run an in-house book club and are poised to serve humanity. The founder, Pre- cious Aigbe is a Digital Marketing Strategist and Brand Consultant. He is passionate about helping Nigerian youths succeed in their individual lives and inspiring others to live their dreams. Aigbe believes that volunteering is a major channel for youths to network, develop themselves, and be productive while giving back to humanity and the society. The PEA Club is always open to intending volunteers and the general public alike. You can reach them on Instagram at @thepea- club.
