Blue and Gold Spring | Summer 2021 Volume 2 • Issue 1 - Page 6

of our faculty and administration , we ’ ve weathered this unprecedented storm far better than nearly all of our peers .
Moreover , because of other steps we ’ ve taken , we expect enrollment for the Fall 2021 semester to be up .
And , for the first time in more than 50 years , students will live on campus . More than 170 of them , in fact .
“... We are embarking on a multi-tiered fundraising effort that will support increased enrollment with new buildings , new programs , a revived campus life and more .”
These monies will endow scholarships and faculty chairs , expand housing , construct a convocation center , upgrade facilities , improve athletics fields , augment cultural activities .
We ’ re calling the campaign IMPACT because we want to emphasize that every dollar raised will have a direct impact on the students who attend Bluefield State .
We also want to remind people of the many positive changes of the last two years . And , with their support , the prospect for many more in the not-too-distant future .
We have more to say about the IMPACT campaign beginning on page 80 of this issue .
I hope you consider joining us in this next , bold chapter of Bluefield State College .
We ’ ve made a positive impact in virtually every facet of this institution .
Now , we ’ re taking another large step forward : Launching an aggressive development campaign .
Simply put , we are embarking on a multitiered fundraising effort that will support increased enrollment with new buildings , new programs , a revived campus life and more .
“ These monies will endow scholarships and faculty chairs , expand housing , construct a convocation center , upgrade facilities , improve athletics fields , augment cultural activities . .”
We will seek substantial gifts from alumni , friends , community supporters , major corporations , and foundations .
