Mary Brooks Mabry , Class of 1951 , passed away October 5 in Mooresville , NC . She was 91

Robert Lee Farley

Robert Lee Farley , Class of 1983 , passed away on July 11 in Princeton . He was 81
Mary was born in Wilcoe , WV , and a registered nurse for nearly 20 years .
She was preceded in death by her husband William C . Mabry .
She is survived by her children , Carolyn Mabry and Larry Mabry ( Class of 1988 ), spouse Josie Mabry . Also , four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren .

Ken Haley

Ken Haley , Class of 1972 , passed away suddenly on August 14 in Roanoke , VA . He was 70 .
Ken is survived by his wife Andrea Galloway , sons Dennis and Darren ( Doris ), two grandchildren and two brothers .
Ken was an active member of the Roanoke Chapter of the Bluefield State College Alumni Association .
He is survived by his wife , Elizabeth Meadows Farley , three daughters , Robin White , Pam Rickman and Rebecca Rittman ( Billy ). Also , five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren . And three brothers , Mike Farley ( Barbara ), David Farley ( Jan ) and Patrick Farley ( Duane Cooper ).
Robert received his first degree , a Bachelor ’ s in Business Management from West Virginia Tech in 1963 . In 1967 he began a long career with Appalachian Power .
In 1980 he enrolled at Bluefield State , earning an Associates degree in electrical engineering technology .
Robert was active in the Princeton community serving in many capacities with the Princeton-Mercer County Chamber of Commerce . Later , he was instrumental in the founding of the Chamber of Commerce of the Two Virginias .
Robert also served as board chair of New River Community and Technical College . He was an executive board member of theMercer County Convention and Visitors Bureau , a member of Rotary International and active on several other boards and organizations .
He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Princeton .
