Luncheon speakers included coaches from all the fall sports and a couple of the winter ones as well . Because so many coaches are new to Bluefield , this became a great way for the community to meet them , as well as some athletes .
The hospitality tents also proved popular . The food was great and the tables were filled supporters from the community , as well as former coaches and athletes . A special section at Mitchell Stadium was reserved for members .

Director of Athletics Derrick Price observed , “ Big Blue boosters are integral to the overall success of Bluefield State athletics . Not only do they provide critical financial support , but they ’ re our ambassadors into the community .

“ I ’ m definitely pleased with where we ’ re at . My hope is we have more than 100 members by the end of Spring semester . By this time next year , my goal is that the club is self-sustaining , planning its activities . Then to work closely with our department and help our athletes have a tremendous experience at Bluefield State .”
