Gallery I: BAA Members Spring Show The Bloomingdale Artists Association meets at the Museum monthly to share ideas and learn various art techniques from guest presenters. The work in this show is the result of their new experiences.
BAA Silent Auction Accompanying the exhibit is a display of new work in an 8x10 format. These pieces will be auctioned to benefit the Jack Sartain Memorial Scholarship, which is given to a local student pursuing a degree in the visual fine arts.
Gallery II: fotoMuses“ Scapes: Land and City”
This exhibit of new work is inspired by the beauty of natural landscapes, and the dynamics of architected city scapes. The fotoMuses are a group of women photographers from the Chicago area who share their love of photography through their exhibits.
Wearable Art & Quilting Americana June 24 – July 22 Complimentary Reception: July 9, 2-4PM
Gallery I: Wearable Art Artists participating in this show include women working in both soft and hard materials. Some choose to adorn the body with textiles, while others choose metals. Occasionally, an artist combines textiles and metal.
The gallery will include originally designed garments, contemporary in style. Show cases will feature a dazzling assortment of jewelry in silver, gold and base metals, and settings using polished stones.
Participating artists include Connie Blieszner, Susan Infante, Kay Lange, Robin Schoenburg, Heather Winslow, Claudia Engel-Rush, Marge Petronis, Katherine Steinbring, Linda Bingle, Jennifer Cho and Tammy Deck
Gallery II: Quilting Americana Loose Threads, a local quilting group, presents an exhibit of quilts which portray their pride in America. This colorful show will amaze the viewer with the skillfully-done intricate designs stitched by hand and machine.
The History of Coca Cola May 20, 2-3PM Code: 403696-A1 Fee: $ 5
A longtime employee of the Coca Cola Company will delight the audience as he explains the origin of the original 1886 formula, and follows the product through the years until it became an international sensation. Sip a complimentary cold coke while you listen to this fascinating story. This presentation is given by Dick Volker and is for ages 7 to adult. Pre-registration is required.
