Block Home #4 Kuta (Pak Jumangse) | Page 11

Pak Jumangse’s Block Home was constructed in 14 days by a local construction team, including demolishing the original house. Two days of demolition were followed by three full days of laying the foundations, installing the septic tank, and pouring the concrete floor. Once the concrete had set, it took two days to lay out the steel base (U-profiles) for the first row of blocks to be placed onto and to finish assembling the walls. Once the walls were complete, two more days were spent assembling the roof structure and connecting the roof sheets. The doors and windows were then installed, which completed the basic structure.

The final three days saw the installation of the tiling and plumbing in the bathroom, the construction and tiling of the kitchen bench, the installation of electrical cabling and lighting, and the painting of the wooden doors and windows. During the build, representatives from the regional disaster management agency and Block Solutions Asia visited the site.
