As our little group rounded up on the edge of Otter Cliffs surveying the crashing waves below, our instructors appointed three volunteers. With helmets on, we learned to fasten flat nylon ropes that fit around our waist and through our legs, and to secure a carabiner at the center around our bellybuttons. Once all were securely placed, we let out the rope. With safety lines held, we were coached down and up the rock wall safely. i was one of the first to go over the edge.
