nternational Paper Foundation Grant
Makes a Difference for Outdoor Women
Unlimited The Foundation’s primary focus areas are
environmental education and literacy
programs for children.
In November 2015, the International
Paper Foundation and International Paper’s
Prattville, Ala., Containerboard Mill awarded
a $5,800 grant to Outdoor Women Unlimited
(OWU). Through the Foundation, International
Paper’s Prattville, Ala., Containerboard Mill
is proud to partner with Outdoor Women
Unlimited. International Paper has been a
long time supporter of OWU, providing more
than $36,000 in Foundation grant funds to
the organization since 2008.
OWU will use the grant to enhance and
expand its conservation and educational
programs for women across the River Region
of Alabama, and foster additional state and
national outreach opportunities.
International Paper supports a variety
of philanthropic activities through its
International Paper Foundation. From its
inception in 1962 and continuing today,
the Foundation supports non-profit
organizations within the communities where
International Paper has operating facilities.

Through donations and fundraising
events, OWU has mainstreamed its unique
program designed to educate women in
outdoor life skills and conservation, while
minimizing costs in order to encourage
membership growth and participation for
women of all ages.

Established in 2006, OWU is a qualified
501c3 organization dedicated to providing
women and their families with the education
and the excitement of outdoor experiences
through teaching outdoor life skills, sharing
the knowledge of our natural resources,
building self esteem, strengthening character
and promoting self-reliance in a safe and
professional environment.
