SanDisk’s Extreme Pro USB 3.1 Flash Drive Is Extremely Fast
Offered in 128GB and 256GB capacities, the Extreme Pro can achieve read speeds of 420MB/s and write speeds of 380MB/s. Of course, in order to enjoy such high speeds you’re going to need a USB 3.1 port capable of providing them.
These drives retain the Type-A USB connection rather than the newer Type-C connector. That makes them capable of plugging into many more devices, but means you’ll require a dongle to use them with a MacBook Pro$1,649.99 at Amazon, for example.
The Extreme Pro uses an aluminum casing for durability and ships with SanDisk SecureAccess software providing 128-bit AES encryption for your files. There’s also an included RescuePRO Deluxe offer for recovering deleted files.
The 256GB model is priced at $179.99, but B&H is listing it for pre-order with a $139.95 price tag. Expect other online retailers to come in at around that price point, too. No pricing has been announced for the 128GB model yet.
