LEVERT

Time did not permit BLAQUELINE Entertainment and the members of Levert II (Marc Gordon and Blaq Rsoe) to sit down for an interview. However, I found it only fitting to do a piece titled Where Are They Now, which will give the fans of Levert an update on what the fellas are up to now.

LeVert was an R&B/pop singing group, formed in Ohio in 1984, composed of Sean and Gerald Levert---sons of Eddie Levert, founder of the O'Jays---and Marc Gordon. However, tragically Gerald Levert passed away in November 2006 of a heart attack due to an accidental overdose of over-the-counter and prescription drugs . Soon after, Sean Levert sadly passed away in March 2008, while serving time in the Cuyahoga County Jail for failing to pay child support. Prior to his death, Sean accepted a Grammy on behalf of Gerald Levert for his song "In My Songs." Which was the title track of his last album.

The journey for Levert whether as a group or solo act was one that was paved with soulful grooves, deep harmonies and refreshing lyrics. Even in the midst of their individual projects; they never lost sight of the original sounds that made them famous.

After the sad and untimely death of Gerald Levert, Sean Levert and original group member Marc Gordon along with Blaq Rose continued the Levert legacy and tradition, with love and approval from Eddie Levert. This is when Levert II took form. New member, Blaq Rose is a talented singer, songwriter and producer in his own right. Blaq Rose has worked with some of the top names in the music industry including Dr. Dre, K-Ci and JoJo, Anthony Hamilton and Christina Milian.

As the work on their album respectively titled "Dedication" (a project originally intended to be a tribute to Gerald) began - Sean Levert passed away. However, after time off to clear their heads and re-group "Dedication" the debut CD from LEVERT II was released in 2011.
