Firm Highly Ranked in Law360 Pulse 2022 Pro Bono and Social Impact Ratings
Our firm was highly ranked in Law360 Pulse ’ s 2022 Pro Bono and Social Impact ratings . Law360 Pulse gauges firms ’ pro bono efforts through the proportion of attorneys who provided at least 50 hours of free legal services , the proportion of attorneys who participated in any pro bono work , and the average pro bono hours per attorney . Blank Rome ranked 23rd among law firms with more than 600 attorneys , with over 92 percent of our firm ’ s attorneys performing an average of 47.4 hours of pro bono activity . Additionally , the firm ranked 13th in Law360 ’ s list of law firms that “ are crushing it in pro bono ” and have a pro bono participation rate of 90 percent or higher .
To assess law firms ’ social impact efforts , Law360 Pulse reviewed five indicators , including racial and ethnic diversity ; gender equality ; employee engagement ; pro bono service and responsible business practices ; and environmental , social , and governance initiatives . Overall , Blank Rome ranked 34th out of 100 firms , scoring over 95 percent for employee engagement and over 51 percent for pro bono activity .
Firm Receives Christopher W . White Distinguished Access to Justice Award for Leadership
In October , the firm received the Delaware State Bar Association ’ s Christopher W . White Distinguished Access to Justice Award in the Leadership category . The leadership award is presented to a legal organization that has demonstrated “ outstanding leadership in the field of pro bono service to Delaware ’ s indigent population .” The award specifically acknowledged our firm ’ s “ Second Chance ” clinic partnership with firm client JPMorgan Chase .
Selection for the leadership award was based on :
• The number of pro bono hours the organization contributes to the direct representation of indigent clients .
• The number of cases the organization accepts for pro bono representation .
• Flexibility and accessibility in accepting cases .
• The organization ’ s commitment and service on committees dedicated to promoting and supporting the provision of legal services to those in need .
• Financial support to agencies providing legal services to Delaware ’ s indigent population .
• The percentage of attorneys in the organization who accept pro bono cases .
• Fostering a culture that recognizes the value of pro bono service .
