A Note from Blank Rome ’ s Pro Bono Committee Chair
Commitment to pro bono and community service is a core value of our firm and colleagues . The firm promotes pro bono involvement by matching its attorneys and paralegals with meaningful legal clinics , initiatives , and partner nonprofit organizations to implement the firm ’ s formal pro bono policy , which requires each attorney and paralegal to provide at least 25 hours of pro bono service each year , with an aspirational goal of providing at least 75 hours of pro bono service .
In 2022 , Blank Rome attorneys and paralegals provided more than 31,000 pro bono hours . The firm ’ s collective commitment to pro bono service earned Blank Rome a ranking in the top 50 firms nationwide in The American Lawyer ’ s 2022 Pro Bono Scorecard . In addition , Law360 ranked Blank Rome 13th in its list of law firms that “ are crushing it in pro bono ” and Law360 Pulse ’ s 2022 Pro Bono and Social Impact ratings ranked the firm 23rd among law firms with more than 600 attorneys .
This Report highlights the pro bono cases , clinics , and projects that our attorneys and paralegals worked on last year , which provided equal access to legal representation for some of the neediest in our communities . While there often are no simple solutions for many of the complicated challenges our country faces , we are confident that , through collective pro bono service , we can continue to achieve greater justice and equality .
I am honored to help lead our pro bono program , alongside Kathy E . Ochroch , partner and director of pro bono and community impact ; Krystal Kane , pro bono attorney ; and our firm-wide and office-level pro bono committee members .
