Dear Friends ,
Welcome to our 2022 – 2023 issue of Perspectives , Blank Rome ’ s diversity , equity , and inclusion (“ DEI ”) magazine , published annually . Our dedicated Diversity & Inclusion Committee has compiled this review of our firm ’ s programs , partnerships , accomplishments , and initiatives that directly support and promote DEI in our firm , throughout the legal industry , and in the communities where we live and work .
In 2022 , our diversity leaders and firm-wide network of advocates and allies made great strides toward both achieving and surpassing our goals . Among the highlights were successfully hosting our firm ’ s first DEI Summit with colleagues , clients , and friends in Miami in October ; collaborating with our clients around shared values ; increasing our focus on recruitment pipelines and hiring diverse candidates ; expanding our affinity group communities ; and adding to our team . I am extremely proud of the meaningful work and successes achieved by our DEI advocates throughout our firm .
As you may know , Blank Rome ’ s founders established our firm in 1946 upon the core principle of creating a work environment and culture where people of diverse backgrounds could gather to practice law . To this day , we remain committed to implementing innovative DEI goals and initiatives that honor our founders ’ vision as well as harnessing our diverse talents to further enhance how we support our clients , colleagues , and communities . Every person in our Blank Rome community — colleagues , clients , and friends of the firm alike — plays an important role in our successes . We look forward to partnering with you in 2023 and beyond , and welcome your feedback , suggestions , and ideas on how we can continue to further strengthen and expand our impact . •
